Hi brick fans! Thought I'd have some fun with this popular scene from the Star Wars movie, A New Hope.
The two featured droids or robots came from the Monkie Kid set I recently built. They are kind of clumsy looking, and was thinking of just taking them apart for my parts bin.
But then I got this idea that it might be fun to make Star Wars scene but with these two robots taking the place of R2D2 and C3P0. I knew I needed a landspeeder, a Luke Skywalker minifigure, and Obi Wan Kenobi minifigure, a bunch of stormtrooper minifigures and some kind of Tatooine-style background.
The landspeeder is a MOC set by Vostroyan: Luke's X-34 SoroSuub Landspeeder which I bought from Aliexpress.
The building is listed on Aliexpress as the Desert Radar Base, but I searched Rebrickable and the Internet using Google Lens, but couldn't find the original creator of this MOC set. It has 453 pieces and originally came on a 16x32 baseplate. I swapped the 16x32 baseplate for a 32x32 stud baseplate in order to have some display space for the landspeeder. Besides Aliexpress, there's a few online sellers that have this set.
I still have the replica Mos Eisley Cantina set to build, and maybe I will expand the setup to include this building and others in future.
